While interest in Generative AI was growing fast, Microsoft Italy recognised that professionals, especially in SMEs, needed more than just surface-level exposure. The challenge was to offer not general awareness, but critical insight into key debates shaping the GenAI landscape, such as ethical governance, model architectures, and autonomous agents.
 
Professionals needed structured, expert-led sessions to build strategic understanding and readiness.

SOPHIA designed and delivered a three-part advanced training series, each module focused on a distinct, timely challenge in GenAI adoption:
 
* Open vs Closed-Source LLMs: trade-offs, risks, innovation dynamics, and enterprise implications
 
* LLM Ethics, Governance & Regulation: bias, transparency, compliance, and alignment with the EU AI Act
 
* AI Agents: what they are, where they’re going, and how they redefine workflows
 
Sessions were designed for professionals who already understood the basics and were ready to engage with deeper, more technical and strategic content. Each webinar featured live demonstrations, critical discussion, and practical framing for SME and business applications.

The training equipped participants with not only the vocabulary but the critical thinking tools needed to navigate GenAI decisions responsibly.
 
The initiative was met with enthusiasm across Microsoft’s Italian ecosystem, establishing SOPHIA as a high-trust, high-rigour training provider.
 
This paved the way for SOPHIA to become a Microsoft Certified Trainer in AI, Data, and Copilot, with plans to deliver advanced GenAI education globally—in Italy, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and APAC.
